A Beautiful Kitchen Should Work Beautifully, Too
Thoughtful planning, practical solutions, and skilled craftsmanship transform more than how a kitchen looks. At Peters Construction, we create kitchens designed around the way you live.
A Better Kitchen Begins with a Better Plan
A successful kitchen remodel begins long before construction. It takes a thoughtful look at how the existing space functions, what isn’t working, and what changes will make the greatest difference.
For this Oakland kitchen, Peters Construction worked closely with the homeowner and interior designer to rethink the layout from the ground up. The refrigerator was moved to a previously underused side of the room and placed in a cabinet surround, directly opposite a new full-height pantry with three large lower drawers. A dedicated coffee bar, floating shelf, and upper cabinetry completed that side of the kitchen and added useful everyday function.
At the same time, the range was relocated from the island to the tall wall, allowing for a proper ventilation system, better prep space, and a more usable island. The result is a kitchen that not only looks better, but works far better for daily life.
More Than a Beautiful Finish
This Oakland kitchen had plenty of room, but much of it wasn't being put to good use. Working closely with the homeowner, an interior designer, we rethought the layout to make everyday cooking, storage, and entertaining easier.
Relocating the refrigerator and adding pantry cabinetry transformed previously underused space into valuable storage. Moving the range from the island to a dedicated cooking wall made room for a powerful, quiet ventilation system, generous cookware drawers, and useful preparation space on both sides of the cooktop.
With the range gone, the island became a welcoming place to gather, serve, and enjoy a meal. Full-inset cabinetry, integrated lighting, and carefully positioned pendants completed a kitchen designed to work as beautifully as it looks.
